There are different ways of providing nutrition to our sick patients, obviously we would like them to eat by themselves, however, this is not always an option. The session will cover different types of feeding tubes, how we place them, and which is the better tube to use over another. Then we will be looking how we calculate resting energy requirements, what type of food to provide to the patient and what is the best way to prepare the food for the patient. Also, tips will be provided to help prevent the tube from blocking and if the tube does block what we can do to unblock the tubes.
